Jacques was born in Cape Town and matriculated at JJ Du Preez High School. After completing his B Iuris. LL.B degree at the University of South Africa he joined the Department of Justice where he prosecuted in the Magistrates' and Regional Courts.

Jacques joined the firm in 1998 as a Candidate Attorney and on his admission as Attorney in 2000 he became a Professional Assistant. He was appointed as a Director on 1 April 2007.

Jacques heads up the commercial department at the firm's Claremont branch and specialises in corporate, commercial and conveyancing matters. Jacques has over the years acted for a number of successful property developers, project financiers and entrepreneurs, thereby gaining invaluable experience and knowledge in aspects relating to property developments, structured finance, related commercial contracts and advise on appropriate corporate structures. Jacques obtained a LL.M degree, specialising in corporate law, in 2005.
